Our “Mosaic Day”: In groups we discover smaller rare book and special collection libraries that are normally not accessible to the public. Directors and librarians look forward to offering fascinating guided tours through their treasure chambers and highlights of book art and scholarship.
Did you know, for example, that the German Historical Museum owns a first German-language edition of the American Declaration of Independence of 4 July 1776?
Another tour takes us through “Jewish Berlin” with a visit to the library of the Jewish Museum. At the Academy of Arts we will admire unique artists’ estates, and we will visit the outstanding Lipperheide Costume Library. Other options include the Medical History Library at the Charité and the specialist libraries at the Museum für Naturkunde.
